Horrible reception lately

I have a 9630 on Verizon. A couple weeks ago, for no apparent reason, my signal strength has been greatly reduced. I even get no signal in many areas where I previously had signal. Other Verizon users have normal strength.

Bad Reception

My provider is Verizon and I have a Curve 8530. I have only 1 bar in certain areas where other providers have excellent reception. Is this common with these phones? Is there a way to boost it? I’ve had the phone about 2 years now. I haven’t contacted Verizon yet.
